Artist Bio:
Blane Fonda began playing together in early 2009 in Chicago, IL. The group formed out of the remains of two former Chicago-based bands: The Sapiens and Technicolour Stallion. When Sapiens members Matt Witt, David Fine, Charlie Nadler and Dave Veller found singer Mark Wetzel, Wetzel's elastic voice, an instrument capable of inhabiting moody, introspective passages and soaring, stadium-ready choruses, proved a natural fit for Blane Fonda's new, swaggering style. (Chicago Tribune). After a well-attended debut show at Beat Kitchen in April 2009, Blane Fonda headed to IV Lab Studios to record Master of Stars and Broken Arms, a seven song EP released on August 13 2009 to a near-capacity crowd at Schubas in Chicago. The record was engineered and co-produced by Jonathan Alvin and mastered at Gravity Studio by Doug McBride. Named Chicago Artist of the Month by the Deli Magazine Chicago just months after forming, Blane Fonda has hit the ground running. The eventful beginnings have Chicago media predicting that Blane Fonda may soon become one of the 10 bands to watch in 2009 (Gapers Block) and filing them under Bands You Should Know (Metromix). The band intends to tour in support of the new release.[Read More]
