Pop/rock singer/songwriter/pianist Ian McGlynn is the son of rock & roll drummer Ed McGlynn; his mother is a classically trained pianist. He began playing piano at age three and wrote his first song at 12. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, he recorded his first album, Lemon, live at the Lemon Lounge on July 22, 2001, accompanied by his father and bassist Bill Knudson, and released it on his own IEM Music label on December 10, 2002. His first studio album, Tomorrow's Taken, appeared on Bailey Park Records on April 13, 2004, with a remix version, Tomorrow's Re-Taken, following on March 7, 2007. His song "Nowhere" was featured under the closing credits of the film Off the Black (2006), and his songs were also used in My Mom's New Boyfriend (2008) and One -- A Lucid Experience. His second studio album, This Is the Sound, was released on October 21, 2008. During the spring and summer of 2009, he released four digital singles: "Nowhere," "I Took an Oath," "Listening In," and "We Should Hang in the Museum."[Read More]
