With initial influences like Mumford & Sons, Local Natives, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, The Lumineers and Of
Monsters and Men, The Ransom Collectives sound may not be unusual, but they are definitely an
unconventional new player in the Philippine music scene. The sixIpiece indie folk/pop band unites the
piano, violin, percussions, bass and guitar, each voice and instrument like veins sustaining a beating heart.
Formed only in late August of 2013, the band found themselves on stages all over Manila within their first
six months. After winning Wanderband, a competition between the countrys most promising indie bands,
The Ransom Collective went on to play the annual Wanderland Festival, sharing the stage with bands such
as The Drums, The Royal Concept, Architecture in Helsinki and more. The band then released their selfI
titled EP in November 2014 to high praise from music critics and peers. In May 2017, they released their
first full-length album entitled Traces. In addition, the band has released three music videos and has
worked with several notable companies in releasing promotions and launching campaigns.
